Value Retail are the creators of luxury retail experiences and the management group behind some of the world’s most beautiful and well known retail destinations. With a global headcount of 1,200 employees, representing 15 nationalities with 36 languages spoken in eight countries and a UK headcount of just 200, Value Retail is a diverse, innovative and international company.
For over 5 years, we have built strong relationships with the HR team and hiring managers and have had the opportunity to support the company with recruitment projects in Human Resources, Visual Merchandising, Marketing, Tourism, Legal, Guest Services, Administration and Operations among others.
When we tasked with resourcing an Operations Manager for their expanding facilities team in Bicester, our Procurement & Supply Chain Recruiter, first took time to understand the nature of the role by meeting with the clients and taking a full, in depth brief about the position. As a specialist in his field our Recruiter was also able to draw upon previous experience of the candidate market to form an accurate understanding of the role and the required skills.
Due to the confidential nature of this role, we had to handle this piece of recruitment with discretion, meaning we were unable to advertise the role and could only source our candidate through proactive searches of passive candidates. An additional challenge was to find candidates from a retail facilities background who was not already in association with our client.
To successfully deliver a shortlist of candidates to our client, our Recruiter began by exploring his existing contacts in his network to see if we were already aware of any suitable candidates. This was followed by researching any and all companies that managed the facilities for retail sites, to head hunt accurate, prospective candidates and gauge their interest in the role.
After developing a shortlist of candidates, we spent time getting to know their motivations and discovering more about their personal and professional experiences. Once we were confident that we had the best shortlist of candidates on the market, we presented them to the client along with all the information we had gained during the screening process.
Within four weeks of receiving our clients brief an offer was made and was immediately accepted by the successful candidate. We continued to support Value Retail and their new employee during a 3 month notice period, where we helped to facilitate a smooth and easy transition.
