Stuart is the co-founder of Plus One and started the business in 2005 with his wife Claire Kingsbury. Following an earlier career in retail management, Stuart began his recruitment career in 2000 with an international accountancy specialist and quickly rose through the ranks, starting up and managing several branches as well as training & developing recruiters in his charge.

With a hands on style of management, a keen eye for detail and the memory of an elephant, Stuart takes a pride in developing the careers of those around him and providing the support and infrastructure to enable people to excel at their jobs. Stuart describes himself as an approachable driver and is something of a ‘techie’, so can often be seen diving under desks to sort out an IT issue or enthusing about a new piece of software that will further enhance the services that we can offer to our customers.

At home, Stuart is kept busy by being a father to four children, (as well as several dogs and cats). He further indulges his ‘inner geek’ in all things to do with retro video games from the 80’s and 90’s, as well as owning an enviable CD collection from the same era (your poor family!).

Since the summer of 2019, Stuart has been working with the Council of our industry trade association, the REC (Recruitment & Employment Confederation). In his capacity as Corporate Council member, Stuart assists the REC with development of policy and the upkeep of high standards in our industry, to the benefit of both recruiters and employers across the country.
