Job Description

Our rurally located client is a privately owned and family run business that offer many years’ experience within their niche field. They are looking to recruit a Management Accountant to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. The ideal candidate would have 12 months experience in a similar role. The company is based in a rural location so applicants must be able to travel to and from work independently.

Management Accountant Main responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the preparation of monthly Management and Financial Accounts. This includes, not exclusively, KPIs, margin analysis, variance and trend analysis, reconciliations and forecasts. This also includes the computation and journal processing of prepayments, accruals, CAPEX / depreciation as well as balance sheet reconciliations and royalty/commission/plan related calculations.
  • Responsible for budgets and forecasts for nominated businesses, working closely with operational managers and senior stakeholders on these.
  • Supporting planning activities and the planning cycle: outputs, templates, timetable for AF business’.
  • Continually improve and develop robust financial procedures and processes, to future-proof the companies’ growth and to ensure efficiency.
  • Analysis relating to volumes, margins and the book for all AF business’.
  • Support analysis relating to acquisitions and investment opportunities.
  • Flash reporting and support product profitability analysis and reporting.
  • Presenting and explaining management information and working closely with, as well as supporting and advising, stakeholders across the business.
  • Systems admin, support and problem-solving involving the company’s operational systems and harnessing technology to ensure the companies’ efficiency.
  • Involvement in year end audit, enabling a satisfactory audit and liaising with auditors and other external stakeholders.
  • Support the coordination of plans and activities with those of the wider finance team, where these are interdependent, so as to facilitate the smooth and timely operation of the functions of all areas.
  • Provision of support to the Divisional Finance Director in the delivery of an excellent finance function to the senior management team and stakeholders alike.
  • Acquiring knowledge of all finance department processes to include the production of management accounts, in order to provide holiday and sickness cover for these functions.
  • Responsible for Inter Company reconciliations, accurate and timely sales reconciliation of operational reports, cashflow management and maintaining fixed asset registers.
  • Involvement in financial systems developments and support for payment runs.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • ACCA / CIMA intermediate/PQ or Finalist,
  • Comparable experience
  • Experienced using accounting software
  • Advanced level of general IT skills – particularly Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Superior attention to detail, highly organised with a sense for planning and analytical processes.
  • Confident Personality
