Job Description

Our client is a leading design and manufacturing business based in Banbury that sell its products to a wide range of industries across the globe. The business has been operating successfully for over 25 years, and due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Export Sales Manager into their close-knit team. The ideal candidate will have experience from a similar sector and will be required to contribute to profitable growth from overseas territories covered by the company (EMEIA).

This will be achieved by assisting the existing representatives to support and develop their customer base and to identify and progress new opportunities within their markets.

This would be a perfect role for Junior Export Sales / Account Managers/ Inside sales – Technical or Applications/ Product specialists looking to move into sales or make their next step up.

Please note: This is a remote, UK-based position with Head Office located in Banbury. Travel requirements will likely be 1-2 overseas trips per month maximum, These could vary from 1-2 days at a time, to over a week.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Meeting / Exceeding financial sales targets and product mix targets
  • Ensure that sales achieved are of an acceptable level of margin
  • Identification of new sales opportunities and distributors for open territories.
  • Identification/promotion of new opportunities with Representatives.
  • Product alignment to satisfy inquiries/ requirements.
  • Promote and support sales of the new product line through existing and new channels.
  • Establish solid working relationships with existing and new account representatives
  • Participation / Manning exhibitions or events
  • Develop existing representatives both technically and commercially.
  • Provide effective customer care through prompt and professional handling of inquiries
  • Handle sales inquiries
  • Create application specifications and submit proposals
  • Agree and apply commercial terms
  • Adherence and compliance to agreed Contracts
  • Maintain accuracy of reporting and database information
  • Regular and consistent use of CRM system to provide regular reporting and updates of sales activity.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • An engineering background and technical sales capability, ideally in the field of Product Inspection and preferably Check weighing would be beneficial
  • Flexibility and the ability to respond well to change and pressure
  • Ability to positively influence and build effective relationships
  • A personable approach with good communication skills
  • New Business Development in overseas markets.
  • Working with & setting up Distributors and OEMs in overseas territories
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook Email, or similar system
  • Achieving sales targets

Additional Information:

  • This is a full-time permanent role working Monday to Friday 8.45 am – 4.45 pm based remotely in the UK with occasional overseas travel required.
  • Company car or up to £5000 car allowance will be provided.
  • The commission structure is OTE £10k upon hitting target. Commission triggered at 90% of target, Paid quarterly.
