Job Description

Our client is a successful and well-respected software technology business based in Banbury. Due to an internal promotion within the team, the business is looking to recruit a bright graduate into the role of Graduate Software Tester, reporting into the Head of Development. The purpose of this role is to support the testing of new features as they are completed, working alongside the developers to agree and write up test steps, carry out testing, and provide feedback as necessary to continually help to improve the testing process. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is keen to kick start their career within the software space, where full training and support will be provided. The ideal candidate will be a recent graduate who enjoys IT, systems, and detail orientated work.

Please note: This role offers hybrid/remote working, but the office base is Banbury.

Graduate Software Tester Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out functional testing as part of the Scrum team
  • Help to write up test plans and associated steps
  • Produce clear, well-written bug reports and feedback
  • Help to oversee quality in the release cycle, such as ensuring installers are up to date and checking release notes etc.
  • Continually investigate and implement methods for ensuring quality across the software testing process/cycle

Skills and Experience:

  • Professionalism with a proactive attitude to work
  • Confident and interested in working with computers and software
  • A keen learner with an interest in working within the software/technology space
  • Basic debugging skills would be desirable
  • Experience of working in a software/IT/Systems environment is desirable
