Job Description

Our client is a successful food manufacturing company supplying to a varied retail client base, based in Banbury. Due to continued success, the business is now looking to acquire the services of a Product Developer. The purpose of this role is to create, develop and launch new products across their portfolio. The ideal candidate will have worked previously in a similar Product Developer role within the food industry, and be experienced in project management. Product Developer main responsibilities

  • Identify consumer insights and develop product propositions for their brands, licensors and other customers.
  • Understand the brand vision and values, create new and original products in house and externally with business partners.
  • Proactively manage the existing portfolio of products to help drive product performance.
  • Prepare customer samples and mock-ups.
  • Attend customer meetings when required.
  • Research and test to benchmark products throughout the development process.
  • Keep up to date with food trends by completing store visits and keeping abreast with industry updates.
  • Manage and inspire multi functional project teams to deliver projects successfully.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure the new products correspond with commercial and technical briefs.
  • Coordinate trials with production and attend first production runs.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with other functions across the business (Operations, Technical, Sales, Procurement and Finance).

Key skills & experience

  • Minimum 2 years of Product Development Marketing experience within the food industry.
  • Consistently creative with excellent communication skills.
  • Able to build positive and effective relationships with colleagues, and collaborate with other stakeholders and functions effectively.
  • A positive self-starter who possesses a solutions-focused mentality.
  • A competent project driver with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A relevant qualification within food is highly desirable.
  • A passionate foodie who loves keeping up to date with the latest trends!

Additional information

  • Working Hours are 9 am – 5:00 pm Monday-Friday, (Hybrid working) 2 days a week from home.
