Job Description

Our client is a leading automotive supplier who enjoy an enviable reputation in their field of expertise. They are now looking to recruit a suitably experienced individual, with a background in the automotive aftermarket sector (ideal), to join their UK/Eire marketing team as a Marketing Category Manager.

This is a multi-faceted role with responsibility for implementing pricing policies, develop a category marketing plan and ensuring that all global marketing strategies are adapted for the localised markets.

Workplace location is Leamington Spa, however the company have a WFH policy in place so there is flexibility with regards to this.

Marketing Category Manager key responsibilities;

  • Strategy – Using customer insights, market data and other available tools to develop, maintain and deploy a category plan in the UK/Eire marketplace. Ensuring you are leveraging growth opportunities at all times.
  • Pricing – Define and implement a pricing strategy for each category with support from the pricing team, ensuring competitiveness and margin optimisation.
  • Promotion – Develop a category promotion plan, measure performance with support of management, to maximise sales revenue and market share.
  • Channel – explore all channel opportunities & define strategy and implementation plan for each channel.
  • Produce – Define category range requirements and ensure communication of needs to product management team. Adapt marketing material around country category, to build awareness.
  • Customer Segmentation – Define internal and external category deployment plan and execute with customers.
  • Field visits and events – Run focus groups, visit customers & support sales team in the field. Participate at events as required to develop customer relationships and stay connected to the marketplace.

Key experience required for this role;

  • Experienced in marketing, category management, sales or trade marketing role within the automotive industry sector.
  • Ability to work in multi-functional teams in a large organisation.
  • Good commercial acumen, able to understand commercial drivers & metrics to produce agreed results.
  • Able to develop innovative solutions for customers and to develop projects within given parameters.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • General IT abilities/PC literacy (MS Office Suite).
  • UK driving license (some travel required).
