Job Description

Our client are a Christian Church that operate a number of both commercial and philanthropic enterprises across the world. These businesses support education, welfare and charity work, as well as commercial industry. They are now looking to recruit an experienced Communications Manager to become their Head of Corporate Communications, to lead on all of their UK/EU corporate communications.

Working alongside other Comms’ Managers across the world, you will be responsible for liaising with PR agencies in the UK and EU on key projects, campaigns and the ongoing generation of positive messages. This is a UK and European role with countries including the UK, France, Germany and Sweden.

You will need to possess excellent stakeholder management skills and have come from a PR ‘Agency’ background, as you’ll need to be used to managing multiple clients to deadlines. As this is a continental role, working for a global organisation. Therefore our client is also looking for people who have experience working in a similar role, for a global business. This is a sole role with a broad remit, so whilst you will be ably supported by the wider team, you will also need to be able to work autonomously and to be able to successfully network with stakeholders and managers across the business.

Head of Corporate Communications key responsibilities include;

  • Project management and planning
  • Managing suppliers, including PR agencies
  • Internal stakeholder management
  • Financial management
  • Public Affairs
  • Social Media
  • Media relations (inc national press)
  • Issues management

Key skills and experience required;

  • PR Agency experience, used to working with global organisations on PR & Comms activities
  • Hands on and able to work in a sole role, autonomously but also be a team-player.
  • Excellent communication skills (English), both written and verbal
  • Excellent attention to detail and able to manage a complex workload to tight deadlines.
  • Ideally a second language would be desirable (French or German)
  • Able to ‘crisis manage’ from a PR perspective and gain ‘win-win’ outcomes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship management skills – able to build very strong media/press relations and influence decision makers.
  • UK driving license

This is a newly-created role in an ever expanding business, so an excellent opportunity for a PR professional to make their own. Whilst the office is based in Warwickshire, the company are happy for the person to work remotely for some of the working week and this can be discussed further upon application.
