Job Description

Our client is world leader in innovative, green, and ultra-efficient engineering who use their unique expertise and technology to pioneer products for their customers. An opportunity has arisen for a competent and experienced HR professional to join their team as the Head of HR. The purpose of this role is to manage all aspects of HR in a standalone capacity which includes the day-to-day operational side of HR but will also involve the delivery of their wider business strategic goals and objectives from a HR standpoint. You will provide a high-quality, credible HR service, giving advice and support to senior executives, managers and staff across the breadth of the HR spectrum ensuring compliance to local policy and legislative requirements. The successful candidate will be a confident, resilient and proven HR professional who enjoys day-to-day autonomy and influence across an SME sized business within a fast-paced manufacturing or engineering environment. The successful candidate will have strong experience across both operational and strategic HR delivery.

The business is situated in a brand-new, high-tech facility in Leamington Spa, this site move is in conjunction with their ambitious growth plans and recent investment, so this is a very exciting time to join the team. You will work for a dynamic, and forward-thinking company within a challenging and rewarding role.

Please note: this is an office based role, and the successful candidate will work from their new Leamington Spa site every day. Working hours Monday to Friday (8:30am – 5pm).

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver all aspects of day-to-day HR for the business.
  • Strategic input as required to support business growth, working with Executive team on wellbeing, employee reward and recognition etc…
  • Managing the end-to-end cradle to grave employee lifecycle.
  • Provide an efficient HR service to the business, helping to build a robust infrastructure to enable the business to grow and operate effectively.
  • Maintain and develop all HR administration, process and policies.
  • Talent management, including effective recruitment, retention and succession planning.
  • Develop performance management systems and practises.
  • Supporting Learning & Development across the business.
  • Coaching managers at all levels to ensure an effective consistent approach throughout the organisation.
  • Manage employee benefits.
  • Payroll preparation and processing.

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a strong HR Generalist role at ‘Head of’ or similar level, within an engineering or manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Experience working for an SME sized business, or a start-up, is essential.
  • Confidence and experience delivering business/HR strategy.
  • Up to date knowledge of HR legislation/Employment Law is essential.
  • Prior exposure in a stand-alone role, or working in a very small team.
  • Qualified to Level 5 CIPD or above.
  • Proven experience with settlement agreements and redundancies.
  • HR experience across; HR administration, recruitment, employee relations, employee engagement, L&D, performance management etc
  • Resilience, tenacity, and the ability to hold your own is essential.
  • Strong communicator up to board level.
  • Ability to prioritise, be flexible in approach and remain highly organised at all times.
