Job Description

Our client is an established consultancy, providing services to development clients across the UK. An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Assistant to join their friendly team, covering Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Credit Control and Management Accounts. This role would best suit someone who is accurate and has a high level of attention to detail. The ideal candidate would have experience in Sage Payroll, Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and who has used accounting software packages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining Purchase Order accruals monthly
  • Monthly management account reconciliations and journals
  • Processing monthly wages and salaries on Sage Payroll
  • Processing recharges of sub-consultant and sub-contractor costs
  • Preparation and issue of monthly client invoices
  • Checking and processing staff timesheets and expenses for payment
  • Credit control and credit checking
  • VAT returns
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Checking and coding supplier invoices for payment

Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • High standard of numeracy and literacy
  • Competent with double-entry bookkeeping and management accounts to trial balance
  • Reliable and flexible
  • Team player
  • Proactive and self-motivated
  • Organised with good time management
