Job Description

Our client are a well respected professional services business, and they are currently looking to recruit a full time Finance Manager, to support the MD by providing management information on all aspects of the company’s finances.

As a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), you will be well versed in ensuring the correct implementation of accounting standards in an SME sized company, able to make changes as required and also experienced in supporting and managing members of the finance team. This role would suit someone who has (ideally) had experience of working within a professional services/partnerships organisation, has a broad, hands-on accounting knowledge (including payroll), excellent reporting skills, knowledge of SAR reporting and a general flexibility to be involved in the successful running of the company.

Key accountabilities & responsibilities:

Supporting the MD by providing accurate financial reporting and management information. General duties for this role would include;

  • Monthly reports (YOY), forecasts and budgets and variance analysis,
  • Actuals statement and balance sheets
  • Review and update of Directors Loan Accounts and cash flow forecasts
  • 3 year funding forecast with recommendations
  • Preparation of the 2 year budget report.
  • Informing the MD of changes in legislation or accounting standards, to enable the smooth running of the business.
  • Provide early warning alerts at business and department level by monitoring projected trends with the MD, ensuring the department managers have the information in time to take appropriate steps
  • Maintain the accounts through-out the year on an annual accounts’ basis
  • Prepare in full the annual accounts and supporting schedules in preparation for the annual audit. Supervise the annual accounts audit
  • Responsible for the processing of Payroll, VAT and PAYE submissions and Annual returns.
  • Maintain the asset register
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of team of staff, training, guidance, and performance reviews
  • Provide legal cashiering assistance where required
  • Any other duties as reasonably required

Skills and experience required:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
  • Experienced in working with professional partnerships
  • Experienced in processing payroll, VAT and PAYE
  • Excellent report writing (in Excel)
  • Knowledge of SAR would be beneficial
  • Experienced in managing staff.
