Financial Accountant

Job Description

Our client are a long-standing, highly innovative manufacturer of home furnishing products. They have experienced a significant increase in demand since the beginning of 2020, really bucking the trend against the backdrop of the pandemic. Due to the rapid growth in company turnover, they are now looking to expand their finance team in Leamington Spa and are therefore looking to recruit a Financial Accountant, into a new position.

This role is unique in that it has not yet been fully defined and therefore there is a real opportunity for someone to put their stamp on this position. To begin with you’ll be getting to grips with the company’s accounting processes, analysing the balance sheet and focusing on the fixed assets register, but this role will grow and cover many of the day to day activities as well as financial reporting for the business.

Key activities and responsibilities:

To keep the company’s accounts in ‘audit ready’ status at all times by;

• Ensuring the ledgers are up to date, reconciled and supported with appropriate documentation.
• Covering all statutory reporting, accounts, tax, sales, national statistics and any other regulatory requirements.
• Reviewing transactions for the overseas entities (US and EU)
• Further developing and improving accounting processes and procedures.

Skills and experienced required:

• Ideally you’ll be a finalist or qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Careful and meticulous in your work, demanding high standards from yourself and those around you.
• Some experience of accounting for a manufacturing organisation with overseas entities would be beneficial.
• Good general IT skills, specifically MS Office.
• Good humoured and able to work in a small, close-knit team of professionals.
