Job Description

Our client is a well-established, genuine success story based in Warwickshire. Due to continued growth, this business is looking to appoint a Legal Advisor (Private Client) to join a thriving team, responsible for providing technical advice and support to external Estate Planning Consultants and their internal legal services team. The successful candidate will have prior experience working as either a solicitor, barrister, accountant, and/or IFA/Paraplanner within the Private Client field, so that they are able to confidently provide sound advice to their network.

You will be an integral part of a collaborative and dynamic team, within a stable, high performing company that can offer opportunities for learning, development, and future career progression.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical support to the team administering estates
  • Give advice around the implications of buying and selling trust and estate properties
  • Consider the implications of transferring trust assets in and out of trusts
  • Chairing trustees’ meetings
  • All manner of trust administration, including trust tax returns, with the support of another team
  • Assisting with the drafting of more complex documentation such as Deeds of Variation and Cross Option Agreements
  • Handling Technical Queries from both external partners and internal teams
  • Provide full Estate Planning Advice
  • Provide advice on Existing Wills
  • Report writing
  • Ensuring that all marketing materials are up to date and current
  • Assisting with the internal training of staff

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience as a solicitor/barrister or holding the CILEx qualification, within private client work would be ideal for this role.
  • If you are a newly qualified solicitor, your application would be welcomed.
  • Accountants or IFA’s/Paraplanners or Trust Managers, with experience working within the private client field, who are looking to move in-house to a technical role rather than being ‘client facing’ would also be considered.
  • Strong administration skills and attention to detail.
  • Professionalism and integrity.
  • Excellent communication skills with a team player ethos.
  • PC literate – working knowledge of MS Outlook/Word and a basic level of MS Excel.
