Job Description

Our client is an established family business based in Banbury. They are a customer-focused company specialising in the distribution of branded products. Due to a need for more support, they are now looking to acquire the services of an experienced Payroll Coordinator to work in their team. This is a brilliant opportunity with an immediate start.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Smooth running of the weekly payroll for 250+ weekly paid employees across two sites, ensuring accurate payroll transactions for all.
  • Provide cover on the monthly payroll process in the absence of the Payroll Specialist (over-time or time off in lieu provided).
  • Updating and extracting data from Tensor (Time and Attendance) system.
  • Creation of BACS payment file.
  • Upload payslips/P60/historical payslips to online payroll service.
  • Process SSP, SMP, SPP, Court Order payments, pension payments, cycle to work and student loans or any other relevant payments.
  • Ensure employee information, including payroll numbers and personal email addresses are up to date.
  • Check changes to tax codes and student loans on a weekly basis.
  • Support with annual pay review and bonus processes including preparation of letters and communication.
  • Any other payroll/HR related tasks as reasonably required.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Computer literate and working knowledge of payroll systems, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Dedicated Payroll experience.
  • Demonstratable knowledge and experience of running a Payroll, PAYE, NI, Student loans, Court orders, SSP, SMP, SPP and ShPP.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • High level of accuracy, numerical ability, prioritisation, time management skills and ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Understanding of National Living Wage and salary sacrifice.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work as part of a team.
