Job Description

Our client is a fast-growing engineering and technology business based in Oxfordshire. Due to continued headcount expansion and workload demand across the HR Team, the business is looking to appoint a Talent Acquisition Manager to join their team and report into the Head of HR. The successful candidate will be an experienced recruitment professional with prior ‘in-house’ recruitment experience, ideally with experience recruiting into both technical/engineering and wider white collar professional services roles. The purpose of this role will be to provide both operational and strategic support from a recruitment perspective, ensuring that resource needs are met within timescales and budget. Please note: This role operates a hybrid working model (ideally Mon and Tues office based, and the rest of the week from home). The core working hours are 9am -3pm, so there can be flex around these to make up the full 35-hour week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead a resourcing strategy to ensure that targets are met.
  • Manage end to end recruitment campaigns for all permanent, fixed term and contract opportunities.
  • Lead on the attraction, sourcing and assessing of candidates – following the process through to offer and onboarding.
  • Be the first point of contact for all recruitment related queries.
  • Work with hiring managers to advise on the best recruitment strategy utilising both direct and indirect sourcing methods.
  • Develop the skills and competence of hiring managers to recruit diverse talent and take fair evidence-based decisions. Also, coaching managers to improve their interviewing, assessment, and selection competence.
  • Regularly review market trends, benchmarking and demands impacting the company’s ability to attract candidates.
  • Attend and participate in resource allocation meetings.
  • Manage and prioritise multiple searches, projects, and relationships to tight deadlines with high volumes.
  • Work on resourcing improvement projects such as employer branding, candidate experience, and diversity and inclusion.
  • Reporting and trend capturing to ensure improvements are continuously considered to improve the recruitment strategy.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with all work colleagues, contractors and partnering agencies to ensure an integrated contribution the company corporate objectives.
  • Assist with ad hoc HR projects.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of direct sourcing using a variety of methods
  • Experience creating and delivering a resourcing strategy within a fast growth business
  • Experience working in an in-house recruitment role
  • Experience recruiting into technical/engineering and wider professional services roles
  • Knowledge and understanding of statutory legislation relating to recruitment
  • A qualification in a recognised psychometric assessment tool is highly desirable
  • A CIPD qualification is desirable, but not essential
  • Confident in approach with strong leadership and influencing skills
  • Humility and empathy in order to challenge candidly
  • Proactive, creative and with a clear sense of accountability
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Discretion to process sensitive information relating to applicants and employees
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organisation skills with the ability prioritise own workload
