Job Description

Our client is a leading custom design and manufacturer in their field, selling their products to a wide range of industries across the globe. The business has been operating successfully for over 25 years, and due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join their fast-paced and dynamic team.
This role is responsible for embedding a culture of excellent quality products to the customer, whilst being fully compliant and instilling excellence within manufacturing and processes. The successful candidate will come from an ISO/Quality Assurance background within the manufacturing sector and be able to demonstrate a high level of professional, proactive and interpersonal skills.
  
Responsibilities:   

  • Responsible for ensuring that Health and Safety standards requirements are met and investigated if required on the customer site or within the production area.
  • Responsible for reviewing or creating H&S training material within production or on customer site to ensure practices and policies are adhered to
  • Report to COO of any shortcomings and feedback to the H&S Team.
  • To work with the Production Manager as required to report on poor housekeeping, trip hazards.
  • Carry out or review H&S risk assessments for each production area and monitor or performance. Ensure all documentation is recorded and up to date
  • Ensure that all production training matrix’s are fully robust and incorporate the training skills required to carry out the function
  • Ensure that manufacturing and SE’s training documentation is fully fit for purpose and oversee function to a successful competition, whilst reviewing on a regular basis.
  • Review and audit all documentation for WIP floor travellers, drawings, kits, and materials to carry out the role are fully correct
  • Report on a monthly basis and summarise trends from CAR’s and NCR’s and oversee any Change requests required
  • To spot-check each process within production, record and work with the production manager for any snagging, while raising a CAR / NCR for any other and investigate.
  • To review all Sign off / PDI documentation and work with others for any changes required.
  • Manage the full documentation of ISO
  • To facilitate the ISO audits and assessments and coordinate with all relevant bodies required for meetings
  • To work with other managers where change of further development is required and report to the COO.
  • To ensure all information is stored in a register so relevant managers can adhere to processes.
  • Ensure that all processes are being adhered to and recorded correctly
  • Ensure that Design quality standards, procedures and specifications are adhered too

Skills & Experience:   

  • Previous experience in Quality Assurance Management
  • Previous experience in the food or pharmaceutical industry would be advantageous
  • CQI and IRCA certificated (Desirable)
  • ISO 9001 Quality Management qualification
  • Experience from a Service Engineering background
  • Six Sigma qualified (Desirable)
  • Competent with Microsoft Office and other databases
  • Leadership skills
  • Proactivity and ability to work on own initiative
  • A personable approach with excellent communication skills
  • A practical approach to problem solving
  • A meticulous approach and a high level of accuracy, demonstrating strong attention to detail
