Job Description

Our client is an innovative & dynamic luxury retail brand, who have enjoyed phenomenal success over the past 10 years and are now looking to expand their operation further across the UK and abroad. They are looking to recruit a Finance Manager, who is integral in ensuring that the month end is delivered within the required timescales and to a high degree of accuracy with scope for further progression. The role will be suited to someone who has a passion to succeed, the drive to grow and develop within a fast-paced company but also can support others within a Finance team to achieve common goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring accurate accounting treatments on transactions being entered onto the system
  • Utilising our ERP system to optimise processes within the Finance Operations team
  • Ensuring regular, accurate balance sheet reconciliations (including: Banks, AR and AP)
  • Signing off financial journals for posting
  • Managing stock payment processes
  • Managing supplier payment processes
  • Supporting the production of the monthly management accounts pack for review
  • Conducting cashflow reviews and forecasts
  • Producing VAT and sales tax reports
  • Taking ownership of commission reporting and sales agent registers
  • Generating ad hoc reports as required by the business with the ability to produce meaningful commentary from the data
  • Managing various reports coming from the Operational Team
  • Coaching and mentoring your direct reports, encouraging continuous development
  • Developing solutions through problem solving to ensure smooth operational workings
  • Using your keen eye for detail to be able to spot inconsistencies and errors within data with a view to implementing controls preventing recurrences

Skills and Experience:

  • Maintains high levels of professional conduct with internal and external customers
  • Communicates effectively across multiple levels
  • Able to articulate technical processes
  • Confident in delegating and escalation, clarifying actions required
  • Demonstrates good listening skills and understands how and when to action information to the appropriate person
  • Able to draw insights from data, driving business performance
  • Awareness of money laundering & GDPR legislation
  • Experience in managing, reviewing and creating efficiencies within processes
  • A good understanding of financial processes and controls
  • Takes responsibility for actions and work of both themselves and the team
  • Self driven and able to manage own time and prioritise your own and others work
  • Commitment to seeing a task through to completion
  • Strong IT skills – advanced Excel skills is desirable
  • Knowledge of NetSuite is desirable
