Job Description

Our client is a well-established, genuine success story based in Warwickshire. Due to continued growth they are now looking to appoint an Assistant Accounts Manager into the team to work within their busy, growing team. The successful candidate must be friendly and personable with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage their own workload effectively and support more junior staff members.

Main responsibilities:

  • Preparation and review of draft statutory and management accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies to be reviewed by a Director
  • Collation of information required to complete personal and corporate tax returns
  • Building and maintaining client relationships with a view to providing an excellent service
  • Management of staff workload

Accounts Preparation

  • Process all Accounts Payable Invoices
  • Accounts preparation
  • Review of accounts prepared by more junior members of staff
  • Accounts preparation from both incomplete records and draft trial balance stage for more complex accounts jobs
  • Preparation of draft tax computations and calculations
  • Understanding of accounts requirements and formats including FRS102 and FRS105
  • Liaise with staff members and clients to resolve queries
  • Analysis and interpretation of accounts and financial performance

VAT Returns and book-keeping

  • Management of deadlines for completion of VAT returns
  • Review and supervise junior members of staff undertaking book-keeping and VAT processes
  • Tax returns – individuals/trusts/estates
  • Review of previous years’ tax return to identify information required
  • Processing of information ensuring completeness
  • Compute and advise clients of tax liabilities and due dates

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a comparable role
  • ACCA/ACA Qualified or Qualified by Experience.
  • Experience using accounting software
  • Comfortable to carry out tasks with minimal supervision
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Excellent administrative skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to communicate effectively in a clear and professional manner at all levels
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage own workload
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and support other staff members
  • Ability to solve problems, make reasoned judgements.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Reliability, integrity, and discretion

Additional Information:

Working Hours: Monday-Thursday: 9am-17:30pm Friday 9am-17pm
