Job Description

Our client is a flourishing bespoke packaging merchandiser based in Lymington, who specialise in supplying customers with high-quality products and unrivalled customer service. Due to impressive growth, they are now looking to acquire the services of an experienced Quality / Product Manager to join their busy team. The successful candidate will be working very closely with the Head of Supply Chain daily helping to ensure the smooth running of orders. This role requires management of numerous suppliers in the Far East, product management, quality control and some ad hoc responsibilities to be carried out when necessary. Because you will be working as part of a small team, a flexible approach is required. Quality / Product Manager Main Responsibilities

  • To be vigilant in all aspects of the supply chain with a clear focus on product management.
  • Ensure all pre-production, production and final samples are approved and to the specification of the client.
  • Liaising with clients, manufacturers, suppliers and logistics companies making sure all parties are aware of their responsibilities and specifications.
  • Responsible for building outstanding knowledge of products and how the factories operate.
  • Working internally with the team to make sure all paperwork receives sign off and is sent to factories in a timely fashion.
  • Liaising with several suppliers who may be involved in the same order.
  • Responsible for ensuring key dates are met through the various stages of the supply. Capable of managing and controlling a large quantity of projects at any one time from time of acceptance of order through to client delivery particular focussing on busier times.
  • Having a strict eye for detail including reviewing samples against specifications, noticing all details and communicating any differences with the factory to ensure that there are no issues when goods arrive in the UK, ensuring clients receive everything they need on time and that the products are of the quality expected.
  • Responsible for high-quality QC inspections, detailing all aspects of specifications to be checked and ensuring that appropriate reference samples are with the inspectors.
  • Monitoring factory production timings closely and keeping on top of suppliers to ensure timings do not slip.
  • Building strong and solid relationships with factories via video calls and emails to ensure a partnership and trust between parties continues to grow.

Key Skills/Experience

  • Previous experience in supply chain/order processing is essential
  • Previous knowledge of quality control processes and inspections according to the requirements is essential
  • Good time management skills
  • Strong organisation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the confidence to communicate at all levels within the Business and externally
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Experience in working with International Customers and suppliers is preferred.
  • Ability to prioritise own workload and multitask within a busy and fast-paced environment
  • Good IT skills – including Microsoft Office package
  • Commercially aware with continual suggestions to help improve company profitability through simplifying of supply chain and quality control processes

Additional Information

  • This is a full time, permanent position and the hours of work are Monday – Friday, 09.00am – 5.30pm onsite.
  • Due to the location of the client candidates must have their own transport and free parking is available onsite.
