Job Description

Our client is a thriving logistics company based in Dover. They are a global leading company specialising in fast and efficient logistics solutions across a wide range of industries. Due to continued expansion, they are now looking to acquire the services of a customer-focused, professional Logistics Coordinator to work in their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong transport/logistics background. For the successful candidate, the company offers 30 days holiday (including 8 BH’s) rising to 33 with service along with other fantastic benefits.

Please note: This role is a night shift role, so the working hours are 19:00 – 07:00 on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.

Logistics Coordinator main responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the team leader to understand client requirements and source the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
  • Select appropriate vehicles for transport and buy carrier options at the best price
  • Have a good understanding of European driving regulations and bans, and the impact they may have on transport planning
  • Monitor progression of transport, ensuring agreed milestone updates are communicated to the client when jobs are running to plan
  • Update the TMS as per the agreed milestones
  • Escalate delays in transport and identified problems to the team leader, provide options for a resolution to allow effective communication with the client
  • Ensure carrier non-conformances are recorded and escalated as per the agreed quality process
  • Finalise jobs upon completion, ensuring any additional waiting time charges are discussed and agreed with the carrier and third-party costs are correct (where relevant)

Key Skills & Experience:

Essential:

  • Previous transport/logistics experience
  • Ability to communicate politely and effectively with a variety of people internally and externally.
  • Good IT skills and confidence using any computer equipment
  • Analytical and logical problem-solving.
  • Be ambitious and goal-orientated
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • An enthusiastic and energetic “can-do” nature.

Desirable:

  • Time-critical logistics experience is advantageous
